William Morris drew Strawberry Thief in 1883 after the thrushes that raided the fruit beds at his Kelmscott Manor kitchen garden. It became his most loved design, and more than a century later it is still the print people recognise instantly — birds, strawberries and a dense tangle of foliage, all held in perfect symmetry.

On silk, the drawing changes character. The dye sits deeper, so the ground falls away to near-black and the foliage separates into distinct greens. The ivory blooms lift. The coral of the strawberries sharpens. And the cloth carries a quiet lustre that shifts as you move — the difference between a tie that sits flat under light and one that answers it.

This is one of our first ties cut in genuine Liberty silk rather than Tana Lawn cotton. It knots smaller and denser than our cotton ties and holds a dimple without coaxing. Made for the occasions where the details are noticed.

Modern width, 3 inches at the blade — slim enough to sit properly under a modern jacket, wide enough to carry the pattern.
